Privacy Policy
CountOnMe! is provided by Strait Software, LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use countonme.software and the CountOnMe! web app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. In short: we collect what's needed to run your account and your projects, we don't sell your information, and we don't use advertising or analytics trackers.
1. Information we collect
Account and subscription
- Sign-in details: your email address and password. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us.
- Subscription details: when you subscribe, Stripe processes your payment. We receive and store your email, Stripe customer and subscription IDs, plan, status and renewal date. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Browsers you sign in from: each browser gets a random ID, stored with a short description such as "Chrome on Windows" and when it was last used, so we can apply the per-account browser limit.
Your projects and settings
- Drawings and project data: PDF drawing sets you upload, sheet names, markups, counts, measurements, scales, cable/pipe predictions and notes.
- Markup library: the items, categories, colors and symbols you save.
- Company settings: if you add them, your company name, address, phone, email, website, brand color and logo, which appear on exported summary pages.
- Sharing: email addresses you share projects with. People on a shared project can see the owner's email, and the owner can see collaborators' emails. While someone is working on a sheet, others on the project see their email on that sheet.
Stored in your browser
The app keeps some information in your browser's local storage and IndexedDB so it loads quickly and doesn't lose work: your signed-in session, your browser ID, preferences (such as tool and display settings), cached copies of drawings, and changes waiting to be saved. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. You can clear this data in your browser settings; you'll need to sign in again afterwards.
Technical information
Like any website, our hosting and server providers process technical data such as IP addresses, browser type and request logs to deliver pages, keep the service secure and diagnose problems.
2. How we use information
- To provide CountOnMe!: storing and opening your projects, saving your library, generating exports and enabling sharing.
- To manage your subscription, check that your account is active and apply the browser limit.
- To send service emails, such as account setup, password resets, email confirmation and notices that a project was shared with you. We don't send marketing email without your permission.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To respond when you contact us.
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't use your drawings or project data for advertising.
3. Service providers
We use a small number of providers who process information on our behalf, under their own security and privacy commitments:
- Google (Firebase and Google Cloud): hosting, sign-in, database, file storage and server functions.
- Stripe: payments, subscriptions and the billing portal.
- Google Workspace (Gmail): delivery of service emails from info@countonme.software.
- Google Fonts: web fonts, which your browser loads from Google's servers.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.
4. Where your data is stored
Your account, project data and uploaded files are stored on Google Cloud infrastructure in the United States. If you use CountOnMe! from outside the United States, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.
5. Security
All traffic uses HTTPS. Access rules on our database and file storage limit each project to its owner and the people it's shared with. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and don't share your sign-in.
6. How long we keep information
- Projects and files stay in your account until you delete them. Deleting a project removes its drawings and data from our active systems.
- If your subscription ends, we may delete your projects and account data after a reasonable period. Export anything you need to keep.
- Billing records are kept by Stripe and by us as required for tax and accounting purposes.
- Deleted data may remain in short-lived logs or provider backups for a limited time before it's overwritten.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and export: you can view all of your projects in the app and export them as marked-up PDFs, summary pages or CSV files.
- Correction: you can edit your project and company information at any time.
- Deletion: you can delete projects yourself. To delete your whole account, email us and we'll remove it.
- Subscription: you can cancel or update billing anytime through the Stripe billing portal.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as to request a copy of your information or object to certain processing. Email us and we'll respond within the time required by applicable law.
8. Children
CountOnMe! is a professional tool and isn't directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. We'll update the effective date above, and for significant changes we'll let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
